Will astragalus increase my appetite?

I'd like to start taking astragalus for several different reasons. I have read in several places though that is is good for poor appetite. Does this mean that it will increase my appetite when it's already normal. I don't need to gain any more weight.
Thanks.
Answer:
In Chinese medicine, Astragalus Root is said to: boost the immune system, increase energy, stimulate appetite, fight fatigue, help with lung problems. It may increase resistance to viral infections, aid would healing, reduce water retention and help regulate blood sugar. These are some of the uses/claims.
Refs:http://www.nutrapower.net/astragalusroot...
http://www.drshen.com/astragalus.htm...Herbs in their natural state have a balancing effect on the body. So this means that any herb should only act to promote its beneficial properties where those are out of balance in the body. So for instance for Astragalus, if your appetite was normal (i.e. not low) then it should not have any effect. So I wouldn't worry about it giving you an appetite above your normal appetite, if it is already normal. This is the balancing effect of herbs.Best wishes.

Will 5 htp cause you to have the giggles for no reason for 10 or15 minutes.?

I have done this twice this week, and laughed so hard i was crying.
Answer:
How much are you taking? You can overdo it. You should stop for a while. normally its a few days on and a few days off. Do you need 5HTP? or are you experimenting.
I don't understand what htp is to know if I have experienced it.
Serotonin syndrome can cause a 'happy drunk' state, which leads to headaches and then other potentially life-threatening symptoms. Are you taking a prescription medicine with the 5-HTP, or taking other supplements such as SAMe or St. John's Wort? If you start getting headaches, you may want to stop taking the 5-HTP.
What is 5 htp?
I tried that 5htp, I felt great, but I gained 10 pounds in two weeks.
I like the fish oil too, that supposed to even out moods or something.
5htp does stuff to serotonin in the brain and can cause sever reactions when taking an ssri. you said you were on one and just went off so you could be having something going on in your brain. the ssri's over time (like a year) will make changes in how your brain reacts to serotonin. when you go off an ssri you have to wean yourself off it and so if you went cold turkey and then started taking 5htp that is a big no no and you should talk with your pharmacist or doctor about it. your doctor should be able to give you samples to get you through the weaning process then 5htp would be good just don't take it when you haven't adjusted off the antidepressant. and the reason I can say this is I almost killed myself. I was on paxil for a year (another ssri) and took a supplement that was for stress that had an ingredient in it that helped with serotonin production and I started getting suicidal tendancies. I recognised it though and stopped right away but never take a supplement without researching it first and what the interactions are.

Why would lettuce make you sick?

I gave up eating lettuce because after a lot of trial and error I found it was what was making me sick, with bad stomach cramps etc. Has anyone else had this experience? Why would that happen? Could I be allergic to lettuce? Am I ultra-sensitive to whatever chemical they use in producing or preserving it? Other people seem to be able to eat it with no ill effects. It's hard to avoid it and I always have to ask people in restaurants not to give me any. Thanks!
Answer:
Lettuce is more difficult to digest than other foods. It's not necessarily an allergy, and it doesn't happen to many people. I suspect you probably also have trouble with some other green veggies as well. You are doing the right thing by not eating it. Have you tried spinich - it is also used to fill a salad? As far as the chemicals are concerned, lettuce is easy to grow in your garden at home. Buy some lettuce seeds and plant one seed in a container the size of the bottom of a gallon milk carton. That is how I plant my lettuce every year. This late in the season, you don't want to grow it outside, because the fall frost may kill it. Probably not, but why take the chance. Put holes in the bottom of the container for drainage and water it about every 3 days.Lettuce is easy to grow, and if you find that your own lettuce doesn't cause problems, then you will know that it is the pesticides or other chemicals on the commercially grown lettuce. If this is the case, I suggest you switch to all organic foods.
weird to say but maybe there was a few traces of e-coli in the lettuce.

Why would a Naturopath telI me to take Vitamin C, B and Zinc?

Why would I not just take a Multi-Vitamin, does it make a difference?
Answer:
Maybe the naturopath wanted you to specifically take those vitamins because those 3 do the most when it comes to repairing the body. Often times, a multi vitamin doesn't have a high enough dosage that individual ones would.
to boost immune system in times of stress. Stress or drinking a lot of caffeine and sugar drinks will deplete those vitamins in the body.
A multivitamin has only the minimum daily recommendations, which may not be enough for some people. The best form of B vitamin is liquid form. B12 is absorbed better in the mouth or by injection.
Ask your Naturapath, we're all just speculating.
Dummy..ask him

Why should assisted suicide be okay?

i am doing a research paper about assisted suicide. i dont want the arguement of 'why cant you just kill yourself by yourself?; so, why cant you? why do u need a physician to help you? (this is not about euthanasia there is a difference!)
Answer:
Assisted suicide IS euthanasia. This is a really good website about it:http://www.assistedsuicide.org/...And here:http://www.religioustolerance.org/euthan...
because doing it yourself is against the law and not too many people look kindly on the Drs. who do euthanasia=some families want it to be over with though ,especially if the person is being kept alive by machines
The argument for assisted suicide is usually that people have the right to decide when to die. In a way, it makes perfect sense. If you've decided it's time to die, have gone through some sort of a "pre-death" counseling, perhaps a mandatory waiting period, then why not have a doctor's assistance so you can make sure it's done painlessly, and that it works, so you don't end up jut maiming yourself? It's a point of view that I think is pretty easy to sympathize with as a basic right. But, it gets more complicated when you look into why not. There's the question of medical ethics. Doctors traditionally pledge that they will "first, do no harm." So ending the life of a healthy person may be unethical, and ethics are very important to medicine. Of course there is the question of whether one can sanely and rationally decide to die. It runs counter to our nature as living beings to want to die. We just aren't supposed to be wired that way. Other factors in the debate are religious objections, ie, suicide is considered a mortal sin by some churches, the consideration of the patient's family, and of course tha fact that it's just kind of a creepy idea to most people. Of course in the case of the terminally ill, it's a totally different story, with totally different arguments. I think these ideas might give you a direction to go in for the paper. Hope the brainstorm helped!
With the words ‘physician-assisted’ in front, the humanitarian manner of the suicide – and its lawfulness – is apparent to most people. Clearly it is not a sad, depressive suicide because only a competent, dying adult can get this sort of help from a doctor. Each person has autonomy over their own life. Persons whose quality of life is nonexistent should have the right to decide to commit suicide, and to seek assistance if necessary.
Sometimes a terminal illness is so painful that it causes life to be an unbearable burden; death can represent a relief of intolerable pain. Those who argue that PAS is ethically justifiable offer the following sorts of arguments: 1. Respect for autonomy: Decisions about time and circumstances death are very personal. Competent person should have right to choose death.
2. Justice: Justice requires that we "treat like cases alike." Competent, terminally ill patients are allowed to hasten death by treatment refusal. For some patients, treatment refusal will not suffice to hasten death; only option is suicide. Justice requires that we should allow assisted death for these patients.
3. Compassion: Suffering means more than pain; there are other physical and psychological burdens. It is not always possible to relieve suffering. Thus PAS may be a compassionate response to unbearable suffering.
4. Individual liberty vs. state interest: Though society has strong interest in preserving life, that interest lessens when person is terminally ill and has strong desire to end life. A complete prohibition on assisted death excessively limits personal liberty. Therefore PAS should be allowed in certain cases.
5. Openness of discussion: Some would argue that assisted death already occurs, albeit in secret. For example, morphine drips ostensibly used for pain relief may be a covert form of assisted death or euthanasia. That PAS is illegal prevents open discussion, in which patients and physicians could engage. Legalization of PAS would promote open discussion.
I don't think it should be allowed for any reason. Little things lead to bigger things. It's legal in some countries to have assisted suicide (Euthanasia) if all you are is depressed! That's wrong because you might not always be that way.
It's not up to us to decide when we should die.
God gave us life and He's the one to decide when to take it.
Because some people just can't do anything right without someone stepping in to help
Assisted suicide should not be okay.As Christians, we believe that human life is a sacred gift from God to be cherished and respected because every human being is created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26). In heeding God’s command, "Thou shall not kill" (Exodus 20:13), we recognize that we cannot end of our lives or the lives of others as we please. We must respect and protect the dignity of human from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death.Euthanasia occurs when a doctor or medical staff person administers a lethal dose of medication with the intention of killing the patient. Assisted suicide occurs when a doctor or medical staff person prescribes a lethal amount of medication with the intent of helping a person commit suicide. The patient then takes the dose or turns the switch. We also recognize the need for the proper management of pain. Modern medicine provides effective treatments for pain that guarantees that no one will suffer a painful death. No one needs to escape pain by seeking death. Suicidal wishes among the terminally ill are due to treatable depression similar to that of other suicidal people. If we address their pain, depression and other problems, then there is generally no more talk of suicide.Repercussions of Assisted Suicide
+ The patient seriously, possibly completely, damages his or her relationship with God.
+ Anyone assisting a suicide gravely endangers his or her spiritual, psychological, and emotional well-being including family members and medical professionals.
+ Corruption of the medical profession: whose ethical code calls on physicians to serve life and never to kill. The American Medical Association, the American Nurses Association, the American Psychiatric Association, and dozens of other medical groups argue that the power to assist in taking patients’ lives is "a power that most health-care professionals do not want and could not control.”
+ Society will more and more disregards the dignity of human life.Possible Corruptions
+ Exploitation of the marginalized: The poor, the elderly, minorities, those who lack health insurance would be the first to feel pressure to die.
+ Cost control: Patients with long term or expensive illnesses and considered economic liabilities would be encouraged die.
+ Rebirth of historical prejudices: Many able-bodied people, including some physicians, say they would "rather be dead than disabled." Such prejudices could easily lead families, physicians, and society to encourage death for people who are depressed and emotionally vulnerable as they adjust to life with a serious illness or disability. Jesus uttered the words of faith that continue to inspire and to guide the Church’s teaching in this mystery of Christian death: "This is why the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it up again" (John 10:17). With love in Christ.

Why ritalin uses for extra active childrens?

As retalin is an activator medicine, why it uses for extra active childrens?
Answer:
While in adults Ritalin acts as a stimulant, in over active children it for some reason has the opposite, a a calming affect.
seems people dont want to feed the kids good food and a balanced diet, drugs is needed, and schools ar getting a five hundred dollar kickback from the drug people per child on ritlin and people are not punishing their kids to teach them disapline, so they have to drug them up
kandie has a good answer.
the PC incorrect answer is because the lawyers stick their body parts in school so they can't do what they need- like play outside. parents buy into the need to have too much of stuff so they don't work with their kids. it is easier for society to medicate children than 'really' look for the causes.
growing up in the 60's we had drugs but not from school nurses. we had real food not chemically manufacture chicken and stuff.
heck we didn't even have'PEANUT ALLERGIES". we had real food.

Why retalin has calming affect on children?

ratlin is a activator medicine but why it use for calming over active children?
Answer:
Retalin is a stimulant that has the reverse effect on hyperactive children. Giving coffee to an hyperactive child has been noted to work also.
Its a stimulant, like drinking coffee... only if you Google the word Ritalin, you will get over 400 hits revealing that Ritalin is more potent than cocaine. Whatever happened to the days when drugging our children was simply out of the question?
http://www.discoveries.typepad.com...
ritalin is yumm its like kiddy coce ya know!
Don't know, but my grandma told me that they used rat poison in it. Hope for these kids that they don't now!
Because, ADHD children are basically being prescribed "legal" drugs that keep the child calm all day. Ritalin interferes with naturally occurring chemicals in the brain that control mood, alertness, etc. Methaphorically, it is like us being prescribed xanax's or something to that effect
first answer is right, think again!
if you smart enough you would read this!http://cchr.org/index.cfm/6433think again! http://www.cchr.org/index.cfm/9027/19846...

Why must an artificial heart "beat"?

The biggest problem with mechanical hearts is designing the "beat" mechanism to imitate the organic heart we are born with. I know that "lubdub" sound is really soothing and all, but why can't artificial hearts be made with more effective technology, like a rotary pump?
During transplant operations, they use a rotary (albeit inefficient flexion designed) pump of sorts.
A variable-speed rotary pump would seem to be a lot more efficient. So why can't something like this be used for artificial hearts?
Answer:
Well, mechanical heart design does not include any mechanism specifically to provide the "lub-dub" sound- it actually is more of a click thump, and it's produced as a byproduct of the pumps action. The heart is after all, a two stage pump- but there are two sides with different pump demands. The atrium fills while the ventrical is emptying, the ventrical fills as the atrium empties into it. And you have two sides, the left supplying the body and the right circulating to the lungs for oxygenation. The pumping action for the right side doesn't have to be as strong as that on the left, as the distance to the lungs is not as great as say that required to get blood to your little toe. And while it is true the heart lung bypass machine uses a rotary pump, it's not trying to pump in two directions at once- it's only coming in and going out in one direction. While it is possible to build a four stage rotary engine, I don't think we are advanced enough to make one of sufficiently small size to do the job. Building artificial hearts that can be transplanted into the human body is not as easy as simply repairing a pump in your car. Even something as simple as the variable speed would not work unless its capable of responding to the neural impulses from the body that normally trigger a faster or slower heartbeat. So far, we haven't been able to build an interface that can do that. And you couldn't afford to have a mess up with the heart rate, so you would still have to maintain some sort of override mechanism just in case there was a malfunction. Now I certainly wouldn't want to stifle invention or inspiration, so I would not say these conditions will always be so. There is always room for innovation, and if you think you can make the ideas work, then I say go for it and try to develop your ideas. Just beware the human body is an intricately designed marvel, and it's complexities are more than we have had much luck imitating or improving on. The heart is one of the simpler organs we own, and yet- still a major callenge to replace.
The natural heart is actually two hearts. The right heart receives the returning venous blood and pumps it to the lungs. This is essentially at atmospheric pressure. ( A few mm Hg)The left heart receives the oxygenated blood in diastole and pumps it at the systemic BP to the entire body in systole. The left heart does the maximum work. The problem is that there should be a perfect match between the two. If the left heart pumps out less than the right, blood has to pool in the lungs or get piled up elsewhere. If the left heart tries to pump out more there will be a collapse on the lung side.In the natural heart it is perfectly matched. The left ventricle pumps whatever comes into it.In a total artificial heart this requires a very careful balancing act. It is easier to control things when a diaphragm pump is used. This is the main reason for what is done. However, you are right in that a rotary pump can be more effective. In fact most of the left ventricular assist devices (Half-hearts) are designed this way. Their insides look quite like the centrifugal pumps that pump water. Except that the finish has to be better than 0.1 micro-meter and the shear rate has to be preferably below 100 cm/sec (Blood velocity over stationary parts) to minimize hemolysis.A processor controlled variable speed pump would be the answer. But the reliability will be less, which can not be tolerated in a life saving active device. If it fails it will be life taking.

Why isn't MDMA legal for therapeutic purposes?

If you say it's because a lot of kids abuse the drug, then why is any perscription drug legal? Lot's of kids abuse perscription drugs. And lot's of kids abuse illegal drugs... Why can't doctors perscribe it to people who could benefit from it's use during counseling sessions in a controlled environment?
Answer:
It already is... sort of. Prozac works in a similar way to MDMA and is chemically very similar.MDMA creates the production of serotonin in the brain. Prozac prevents the absorbtion of serotonin in the brain. Both drugs work on increasing serotonin levels in the brain. When the pharmaceutical companies came to test the drugs they chose to spend their millions on testing Prozac. They could have just as easily spent their millions testing MDMA and this would be the new prozac. All it takes is a couple of hundred million dollars for testing, and any drug can become "legal".Warm Regards,
David
It is not that simple...First, we SELECT the children that will benefit with the use of stimulants in proper dose and proper time.Second, If some children "abuse" those drugs, well, that depends what you consider abuse...and how vicious are the so called "children"...
Yes it is legal, because its written in the Law, and LEGALLY authorized persons, with legal responsibility, (accountable to federal authorities for misprescriptions and possible misuse, if results from medical negligence), do perscribe and follow up such prescription.
In your perception...tell me..What kind of people can possibly benefit from MDMA as adults?.which?.. with what diagnosis, and what vigilance?.do you know them? in which cases?.
Do you really know what counselling sessions mean?
Chap, I am afraid you have to get your high school diploma before getting into medical matters...
You dont have a serious idea of what you are asking or talking here I am sorry to say (seriously)
because the government said it was bad...and the government is always right.
I think MDMA it should be illegal but in the way pot is illegal in Canada.

Why is there such a strong correlation between Christianity and holistic / homeopathic / alternative medicine?

Answer:
Christians believe that God the creator created your body to heal itself. Think of it -when you cut or bruise your self you don't need anything for it to heal because its created to do that by the God who is often refered to as "The Great Physician".We are not born with a conjoined twin at our side who is a physician.
Before sin came into the world Adam %26 Eve lived in the Garden of Eden living on a plant based diet. So I think that may be where the herbalism component comes from. Also Jesus healed people with out the aid of doctors. Every once in while someone gets healed from something drastic with out the aid of a Dr.
The website below is an example of that. There are some spontaneous modern day miracles but they are not prevalent
in our "pharmacological based "medicine era. Our FDA is in bed with big Pharma so we cant trust them to be objective.
We were told for years HRT (hormone replacement therapy ) by pregnant mare urine (Premarin) was a panacea for the main diseases of women only to find out its caused estrogenic breast %26 uterine cancers and strokes. Cancer rates are no lower, neither are heart attacks deaths.
In fact Drs %26 hospital staff cause about some 400,000 deaths a year. And that's from self reporting by the Drs %26 institutions
themselves. You have to wonder if the actual numbers aren't higher. Its called iatrogenic death. Try search on it. Clinics %26 hospitals are run by bean counters (accountants)%26 not those who care to cure people. In fact they lose their cash cow (sick folk) if you DO get healed. Its really not in their interest to even find out what is causing your inital problem. In fact they don't do the work of knowing the cause -they're into treating the "symptoms" without ever knowing the genesis of the problem.Remember these are the folks who still think its OK put put mercury in your body long term in the form of tooth fillings. So I think Christians tend to trust God based or Creation based medicine. I think the final issue is one of trust.
We learned these things from the Buddhists, Hindus, and others (some denominations of Christianity) who do not use traditional doctors and medicines.
it doesn't matter what faith you have ,you are going to do it your way=that's why there is such a strong correlation
Is there? I didn't know that and I am an herbalist.
There is?If so, it's a rather new (and dare I say syncretist) connection.Christianity has traditionally had little to say on the subject of medical practices (and later, medical sciences). However, there are a number of factors that could explain a rise in the use of non-standard medical/health practices among Christians. The first is the general trend, in Western countries (especially North America), to explore non-Western or pre-Enlightenment practices in medicine and health care. Allopathic medicine (modern medical science) has on the one hand practically discredited itself by virtue of its own success and on the other hand reached the limit of problems it can solve easily and cheaply, so people are increasingly turning to homeopathic or other non-standard medicines either to complement or to replace their normal medical care. Christians, one supposes, are no exception to this trend. The second is the rise of Christian groups that are quite simply hostile to the modern sciences (which includes medicine in many respects), and so, in addition to their home-grown brand of "faith healing", their practitioners are quite at home with unconventional forms of health care and medical practice. The third is the decline of the old-school, mainstream Christian denominations. In the "lapsed Christian" or "post-Christian" pool of people who are no longer members of the older denominations and who are not about to convert to the new ones, there has been a flourishing of neo-pagan and/or syncretist beliefs, many of which incorporate homeopathic medical practices which are based on their eschatological and (pre-)theological constructions of the human body and human soul.It must be said that many people who are effectively "lapsed" or "post" Christians still identify, however weakly, with their childhood religious affiliations and may even regularly attend services at Christmas and Easter (the "C%26E crowd" as they are more or less affectionately called).Fourthly, allopathic medicine is an extremely recent development compared to the ancient status of homeopathic medicine. Until as late as four-five hundred years ago, everywhere in the world, for millennia, practiced some form of homeopathic medicine or another, including in Christian Europe (with the notions of the "humours" and the bodily fluids that were thought to carry them). So it should come as little surprise that anyone looking at the shortcomings (real or not) in allopathic medicine should turn to pre-existing alternative approaches. Those four reasons can probably be said to constitute a good answer for this question.
Although my base religion is Christian, I hadn't noticed the Christian influence toward Homeopathic at all. I chose that path for myself and my family because Western Medicine for treatments other than broken bones and major illness has been a total joke for us. Western Medicine promotes prescriptions for symptoms rather than attempting to get to the root of the illness. For my childrens sake, I don't want to have illness prolonged and I certainly don't want them to think popping a pill solves our health problems. Homeopathic/Herbs/Alternative therapies are an incredible way to cleanse our bodies and yes "prevent" future illnesses to some degree. Perhaps the Christians that you know connect the healing power of the plant medicines back to historic times of Jesus.
I find the opposite. My family are very 'religious' and they totally disapprove of my interest and qualifications in alternative and holistic medicines. They seem to associate it with being evil and Satanic and they prefer to use conventional medicines at all times rather than even consider the benefits of anything else.
My mother will use herbs in cooking but anything concerning health properties of the very same herbs and she immediately associates it with witchcraft!
Never noticed that. I'm a catholic, then maybe that's why.
if anything ive found the reverse to be trueyou cant make a general statemant on this topic
Let's presume you mean Conservative Christians. "Christianity" is a huge broad swath of humanity. In that view I have not seen this 'strong' correlation. There has, in fact, been much aversion by mainstreamers to our work. That being said, having a strong faith (ANY faith) will help you in your quest for healing, and the definition of healing more than none. If you do not mean CCs, then I have not witnessed that either. I do this sort of work, and many of my clients may well be Christian, but it's because of the demographic of where I live, and the preponderance of those religions in this area.

Why is there such a stigma towards Herbal Remedies and Natural Cures ?

Answer:
Because some people are ignorant %26 will slag off things they don't understand or have no knowledge of - in this respect, they follow what others say like sheep! They read the "research" which is usually funded by drug companies who of course want to disprove anything that might affect their income! This research isn't worth the paper it's written on. Maybe come %26 ask any of my patients - many who have turned to alternative therapies as a last resort - and they will tell you how wonderful they can be.
Thankfully, there are the enlightened ones who are willing to try things before slagging them off. Then they find that there is help without side effects available because it works for them - as they are individuals with an individual response to their ills - therefore needing an individual treatment. Anyone who had read my replies to similar questions will know that I'm passionate about homoeopathy. I see first hand, fantastic cures EVERY day in my work - often of people who have been left high %26 dry by the conventional lot as being incurable or only being offered treatments that make them worst. I have seen both sides of the fence having worked in the NHS for over 20 years but my work in alternative therapies over the last 15 years have been truely rewarding %26 inspirational. I'm not an unintelligent person - I hold 2 first class honours degrees, so I feel I have enough experience to make the comments I make.
I don't
Because the FDA has not approved it.
Because so many of them are abused by people, and that they don't tell their doctors they use them. Also because many claims are made about them that are simply not true and totally unproven.
Because so many outlandish claims have been made over the years. The FDA doesn't regulate this market like it does the drugs so they can pretty much say anything they want and get away with it.
too many ways to be scammed. like the door to door snake oil salesmen from the early days.. i agree there could be many better natural cures but not enough research and proof . and corruption of pharmaceutical companies
Everything needs the "almighty" FDA or AMA approval. Some natural remedies have been proven over time, I'm talking ancient times but when extracts of the natural remedy are put into pill form, that allows labs, doctors, and pharmacist to make some money. So there's no big hurry to tell the public about the benefits of a natural remedy to whatever ailment. IE. colon cleansing, gross I know but it applies here. In the early 1900's doctors did this often until someone came up with a pill to alleviate constipation. It's easy and it makes money for more companies so it sold. The bad is it doesn't do as thorough a job as the now infamous colon cleanse. Try goggling that and the history of it.
In America "alternative" treatments do not coincide with out cultural beliefs and practices in general. Western medicine is an evidence based practice, meaning we need facts and scientific studies, along with FDA approval to commonly accept something. Eastern medicine is more holistic in approach and encompasses the mind, body and spirit, and tends towards treating the cause of an illness or symtom instead of just the symtoms which is often done in Western culture.
Doctors up until the early 1800's used to use these types of remedies to cure diseases- famous historical writers used to claim that a physician's remedy was often worse than the disease, because the formulas were often foul tasting concoctions of myriad herbs and natural substances. Then we found science, which helped us to find the reasons for diseases and allowed us to target our therapies more accurately, and then we began to be able to prove the effectiveness of our treatments through the use of studies. People have returned to natural therapies, not because they work- we know that the majority of them don't- they have returned to them because it is part of human nature to believe in the wisdom of our ancestors, and mysticism.No-one realises that we have come a long way since then, and that we know A LOT MORE now than we used to. Natural remedies are ok, but they should not take the place of proven medicines, especially when they cost an arm and a leg, and are not regulated by any governement body, so you can never actually be sure of the ingredients!
Because these days it has gone beyond chinese and traditional therapies, it has become a sales scam and the potency of half of these remedies is negligible and pointless. I would be using alternative medicine if I lived back in the days where it was legitimate, however seeing the products aimed at draining your local consumer these days is appaling.
What else can you expect from FDA(Fools,Dolts and A**Holes). They don't make money on Herbs and natural remedies hence they do not approve anything which can actually cure you !Take Care and God Bless !
You would be foolish to omit all natural forms of healing. Here is an article that talks about alternative medicine in the modern world

Why is there more food allerigies than ever before?

my step mom was talking about how when she was younger no one had allergies too any type of food and now its like every one does. why is that?
Answer:
I believe it is because we don''t eat whole, natural food anymore. Even fruits and veggies are full of manmade chemicals (insecticides, fertiliers, etc) Food used to be jome grown with minimal chemical additives but now we are adding all kinds of things to our food. Just my opinion.
Here is my theory on this. We live in such a germaphobic society nowadays. We have antibacterial soaps everywhere and wash off the good bacteria with it. We don't allow our own bodies to develop our own antibodies to certain bacteria. When I was a kid, my brothers and I would play outside and dare each other to eat dirt. I know really gross. But we never got sick and don't have allergies. So many kids are allergic to peanuts today, because any allergen introduced to the body has a bad reaction to it. So let them eat dirt!
I don't think everyone has food allergies, I don't know any.
I think a lot of people are just paranoid about getting a rash, gas or something.
There are more additives in food and if people just ate wholesome food like they did years ago they would probably feel better.
When I was a kid there was no prepared microwave food, it was all made from scratch and even tasted a whole lot better than it does today.
There was not as much of a variety then, it was just meat, vegetables, fruit, the basic stuff usually grown in the backyard garden.
Back in the 50's there were kids who had allergies to chocolate milk, so they said, but I never saw any kind of reaction they had.
over processing of foods which deplete our store of digestive enzymes. over industrialisation and unsustainable farming techniques that deplete the soil of nutrients. More polutants in the environment causing people to become more sensitive. People not drinking enough water and favoring carbonated drinks and booze. All kinds of different things have changed since yesteryear.
THE REASON:I learned this in my health class...Food allergies are more prominent today, because of a few different reasons. One of which is that new mothers aren't properly introducing new foods to the babies. When beginning to feed kids solid food, you are supposed to feed them one food at a time for about a week. You also aren't supposed to give them certain foods at a young age, that I see mothers giving their babies. Such early factors on the mother's part are relevant in developing food allergies. The next reason is that people today aren't getting balanced nutrition. For example, kids are replacing milk with soda. If your body isn't used to metabolizing a certain food that the majority of people eat, then your body will react negatively, hence, food allergies, such as being lactose intolerant. If you've never drank milk, and then one day decided to, you would find yourself, lactose intolerant. Your body has to become used to braking foods like that down.

Why is the FDA infringing on our rights to use herbal remedies?

And did they think we wouldn't find out?
http://www.newstarget.com/021789.html...
Answer:
My response to the FDA researcher; Then how come I'm so much healthier, lost so much weight, cured my depression, cured my dysmenorrhea and kept myself from becoming a full blown diabetic by changing my diet to organic foods, exercising, and using both acupuncture and chinese herbs? How come my mother lived 18 months with stage 4 pancreatic cancer using injectable mistletoe extract? How come my grandmother was spared the worst side effects of radiation therapy for breast cancer by taking vitamins and herbal supplements? How come most everyone in my family has seen a drastic decrease of health problems just by switching to organic products and taking their vitamins?Placebo effect? Hypochondriacs?
Absolutely not. Alternative medicine WORKS.Your cronies in the biomed and pharmaceutical industry just see it as a threat to their profit margin because people are starting to wake up and realize the answer doesn't always come from a test tube. The whole Vioxx and Celebrex scandal was all it took to make me lose confidence in yet another government agency whose OK is given to the highest bidder.
What a crock. This is what I do--investigate and research what's going on at the FDA. (No, I don NOT work for them). Let me tell you why this is happening. Because 99% of all manufacturers of these herbs, vitamins, supplements, juices, etc. claim that they will treat and cure all kinds of diseases. From cancer, diabetes, impotence, pain, weight loss, cholesterol, and on and on. And that makes them a DRUG. And they are all LIES. So, to protect consumers, they will now have to do clinical trials on these products and present the information to the FDA before they can be approved for sale. That way, they cannot sell products and say they the treat or cure anything that is not in their clinical paperwork. It's about time. People have been able to sell this stuff without FDA approval. Anyone could just mix up a vitamin or two, a little juice, another herb--anyone of these unapproved products and sell it. So many people have been injured and died because of this.
When these products are approved, you will still be able to buy them off the shelf--just like now. So don't get all excited and think that the FDA is scamming you. That guy's blog is ridiculous.
Not everything is black and white. Newstarget tends to sensationalize the issues they're passionate about. I suggest you read the FDA guidelines yourself, otherwise you're just listening to someone else's spin.
This is a good thing. Some people think because it's all natural it's OK but plenty of natural things have irritants or even poision.
Simple. Natural products don't work the same with everybody, some people might get better while others may remain the same. That is not the case with drugs, even if it harms something else like it always happens with the side effects, yet it will work with everybody the same. To say that a natural product will cure you is wrong because even though it could, is not 100% sure. So, it would be sad to give hope to a person of something that is not truth. Just look at vitamin C, is not approved by the FDA, and it will never be, yet is recommended as a good source to help you with your immune system. Look at transfer factor testimony, is the third biggest discovery in the last decades and because is natural it will never be approved by the FDA. Anyway, with a better health people will get sick less and that is not good for the trillion dollar industry of the pharmacy who search for the treatment of the symptom rather than the cure itself. I used to get sick all the time and since I am using Transfer Factor Plus, in a year I got sick only twice, so I will be more concern in drinking those drugs which do more bad than good. The only reason the FDA is doing that is because of $$$$. Read The New Wellness Revolution by Paul Zane Pilzer and you will be shocked. I read it and I am taking advantage of it. I want part of that trillion, and my company is climbing to the top, and than let me know if you want to be part of the #9 fastest private growing company in only 9 years. 4lifesuccess@gmail.com
There is no money in it for the government, a lot of it you can grow, and if you are cured, the pharmaceutical companies can't keep you coming back with your money for a temporary fix, time after time.
And yes they knew we would find out, that's why they say it must be regulated by them.
Oh Heck -because instead of doing their real job-they have to stick their noses in something else------how many times have drugs been recalled after people have died been paralyzed -etc etc =AFTER they had approved other drugs-it-if they paid attention more to their real job maybe this would happen less
The FDA is being pressured by the pharmaceutical companies and also funded by them. There's a lot of money to be made and the drug companies are trying to corner the market. Money talks.
$.
You hit the nail on the head. Trace the source of the money for you answer. Who is most opposed to natural healing?
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$...
This is why. People can almost grow their remedies in their backyards but the FDA won't be able to control that or be funded by that! It's like smoking. I'm a non smoker but have you noticed how many drugs they sell to "help" people quit, and they ban you from doing it in all sorts of places but they still sell them! Isn't taking them off the shelf the best way to help everyone be healthier? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$... again!

Why is organic honey white? Is it more nutritious than pure raw honey?

Answer:
There's no such thing as "organic honey"--all honey is essentially organic. Unless you're getting "honey sauce" or "honey spread" like they give at KFC. Likewise, there's no such thing as raw honey. All honey is raw. I bet the honey is white either from the bees or the pollen collected.
some honey is oxidized which gives it a cloudy look(which explains the white appearence as it had thousands of tiny air bubbles in it), but if it isnt it will be more syrup like.
Honey takes on its coloring from the types of flowers the bees have access to. Not all organix honey is white, but it is usually very pale. Organic honey is often derived from one flower only, the bees access to flowers being carefully controlled. Hawaiian white organic honey comes from the flower of the Kiawe tree. The nutritional value is the same as from regular honey, but adherants often claim it is better tasting.
the only time i have seen "white honey", it was honey in which the sugars had crystallized. there is no greater "benefit" from that honey than regular honey. i've never heard of "white" honey unless it was honey that had crystallized... is it white or is it clear?keep this in mind when considering products that are labeled "organic". the department of agriculture only requires inspection for compliance to Organic guidelines if a seller has more than $5000 (gross) a year in sales. I could produce 2000 jars of honey right next door to a chemically treated orchard, sell them for $2 each, label it organic and nobody would ever know the difference.grow your own
It doesn't haveto be organic to be white. Just raw honey can be white and It's very thick, is alot sweeter IMO and melts like butter. I think it's because of ground up compounds in it like Honey comb wax and what type of pollen is in it. "beeswax" is white
Raw honey(white in color) 鈥?which has not been pasteurized or filtered, and ideally taken directly from the hive 鈥?is a treasure chest of nutritional value and medicinal remedies. It contains an abundance of vitamins and minerals and is a natural and powerful medicine, both internally and externally. It provides an array of vitamins and minerals; and supplies instant energy without the insulin surge caused by white sugar.Raw honey is exceptionally effective internally against bacteria and parasites. Plus, raw honey contains natural antibiotics, which help kill microbes directly. Raw honey, when applied topically, speeds the healing of tissues damaged by infection and/or trauma. It contains vitamins, minerals and enzymes, as well as sugars, all of which aid in the healing of wounds.Raw Honey is also exceptionally effective for respiratory ailments. One Bulgarian study of almost 18,000 patients found that it improved chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis, chronic and allergic rhinitis and sinusitis. It's an effective treatment for colds, flu, respiratory infections and a generally depressed immune system. Whereas sugar shuts down the immune system, a good quality honey will stimulate it into action. As you can see raw honey has many purposes, people that answer these questions really need to get their facts straight. As far as organic standards are concerned I can name 3 honey producing companies that make $5000 (gross) yearly FROM 1 STORE. As with anything, some companies you cannot trust to follow the standards. That's why research must be done before making retail decisions.
there is no such thing as "organic honey" because all honey come from bees and I have not known any type of bee that uses anything but natural methods and ingredients;pure honey is raw, otherwise it would not be pure;
honey not only gets its color from the flowers the bees gather the nectar from but the nutritional content varies; some may even cause allergic reactions but this is rare;how do you know your honey is genuine and pure? ants stay clear of pure honey because they associate bees with honey and they do not like bees; they will think that a bee hive is nearby; but, if honey becomes contaminated, ants will swarm all over it because it would mean that the honey has been taken from the hive by something (like bears, raccoons, %26 us);also, pure honey will keep indefinitely (even without refrigeration); the anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties prevent the honey from becoming bad; but again, once it becomes contaminated, it will spoil (the speed of spoilage will depend on the contaminant, the degree of contamination, the humidity and temperature of the environment, and other factors);finally, I have never seen nor heard of white honey; I will have to update my stock knowledge on this;
Real honey should be dark and thick. The flowers that the bees gather from will determine the color and taste of the honey. If honey is thin and colorless it's been diluted and will lack taste. Most commercial honey is filtered, heated and diluted. Just because it says organic doesn't mean it is organic.

Why is hair relaxers not good to use?

Answer:
Hi hyl Kristen, all of hair relaxers treatments involve altering naturally kinky, curly or wavy hair into straight strands through the use of specific chemicals designed to effectively break the chemical bonds of the hair, destroying the traditional curl or wave patterns. As you can imagine, any time you apply a chemical strong enough to completely break your genetic hair pattern, it can have other unexpected side effects. Side effects of a bad chemical hair straightening treatment can include total or spot hair loss, hair breakage where hair breaks at the scalp line, bald spots scalp rashes, irritation and potential scarring of the scalp. In rare cases, if burns occur on the skin, these can leave scars as well. Also, hair may stop growing temporarily or permanently as a result of the chemical treatments. The FDA acknowledges that many of the complaints that are received about hair straighteners or relaxers are due to the incorrect use of the product by the consumer or a stylist rather than a problem with the actual product used. Before beginning any hair treatment, especially one that introduces chemicals to your hair, you owe it to yourself to be well informed. Armed with a better understanding of this process, you will be able to make good decisions with regard to hair and scalp care.
Jason Homan
According to Cornell University, here's why: Hair relaxers use a base (the opposite of an acid) such as lye to make curly hair straight. A good example of this method can be seen in the movie “Malcolm X” with Denzel Washington: Denzel nearly burned his hair off trying to straighten it. Unfortunately, this chemical can burn your skin and damage your hair. But some are better than others. “Imina P%26G No Lye Conditioning Crème Relaxer Base-Relaxer Kit” by Procter %26 Gamble, is smore mild than “MPDiol Glycol Alkaline Hair Relaxer” by Lyondell, .These chemicals, damage your hair, until eventually your hair starts to thin and break, so too much styling can be bad for your hair's health. .

Why is every one gowing away from pharmicatail medicum and changing to old remidies?

look at the world nutrition facts no vitimus found in fruit and veg this is why i take a very good juice
Answer:
The old remedies are the best. Food is better medicine than drugs. Folk remedies work because they knew about herbalism. Organic fruit and veg contain many vitamins and other nutrients. Taking chemical drugs to alleviate symptoms of a condition doesn't create a healing environment in the body. Plants create a healing environment in the body. A lot of conditions are linked to diet and stress. If we study nutrition we can avoid illness arising in the first place and when it arises we can know what plants can heal us and what we may be deficient in.
Maybe they're finally getting wiser. Have a look at this article ~ Death by Medicine by several prominent doctors!http://campaignfortruth.com/eclub/230304...
There are many reasons. Pharmaceutical medicines are extremely expensive, have unknown additives, are mostly chemical based, have various side effects, etc....
Older, proven remedies, are considered a better alternative because they usually don't have the above listed problems and are considered "safer."
For me, it was the Vioxx scandal that turned me to natural medicine. The FDA has turned into a political body that gives a nod to a drug based on how many kickbacks they will get. With the exception of antibiotics, pain meds, and a select few other drugs, I have no use for it.Besides that, why spend $160 on Nexium when fresh ginger root costs me $3??It's much cheaper and healthier living naturally!
for 1 thing, advertising on tv and internet. for 2nd thing, word of mouth from friends shows some alternative stuff works for them. totally subjective. 3rd, in USA lots of people disgusted with lack of oversights by our Food %26 Drug Administration to patrol and weed out dangerous meds before they get to market, not later on. 4th thing, some old remedies, especially eastern medicine tho i dont know too much about it, do work. but we make a mistake if we take these herbal supplements or weird things and dont tell our doctors, because they can mix badly with the actual meds we're on. i wouldnt say everyone is going this route either, it just seems that way. and btw, fruits and vegetables do have vitamins and other healthy ingredients. helpful to you i hope.
The cost...
Plus nowadayz when u visit the doctor..they don't even examine you...
They pull out the prescript pad and ask YOU what meds do you think you need!!
Prescriptions given properly kill over 100,000 people each year, and more given imporperly. With millions of other non death problems.
What got me was the mercury in vaccines casuing a 3000% increase in autsim, though the fda claims no link., among many other disturbing facts.
Homeopathic remedies there are no proven cases of death, a few fishy accusations.

Why is cranberry juice good 4 a uti?

i have a uti and ppl say cranberry juice is good 4 1 why?
Answer:
Cranberry juice and cranberry Extract appear to help prevent and even eliminate urinary tract infections. For a long time, cranberries were thought to directly fight the infection by acidifying the urine to such an extent that bacteria such as Escherichia coli would languish or die. Today, the prevailing theory is that cranberry juice inhibits microorganisms from adhering to the mucosal cells lining the urinary tract, making it a less hospitable environment for the proliferation of E. coli and other infection-causing bacteria. Several clinical trials now corroborate that this folk remedy does indeed work.In addition, when taken at the same time as prescription antibiotics for a UTI, cranberry juice or cranberry extract in supplement form may lessen the duration of the infection and help to ease such symptoms as itching, burning, and pain. In general, however, this herbal remedy is better taken to prevent recurrent UTIs than to treat a potentially serious infection that has already developed. If you鈥檙e considering using cranberry juice for this purpose, however, stick with the natural (and unsweetened) variety. Commercial cranberry juice cocktails are very high in sugar, a gum-disease culprit in its own right.
Cranberry juice changes the acidity of your urine. It doesn't cure the infection, but it sure burns less. Drinking the juice will cut down on the irritation and inflammation of the bladder and urethrae, so helping you to get better faster. Take the WHOLE course of antibiotics, even when you feel better, or the infection will build up a resistance and return with a vengeance.Look after yourself and I hope you get better soon.
The bacteria that causes a UTI usually multilpy in the bladder by attatching themselves to the bladderwall with things that look like 'legs' under a microscope. Cranberry juice is good for a UTI because there is something in it which destroys these 'legs' therefore preventing the bacteria from attatching themselves to the bladderwall and hence get flushed out of the bladder in the urine. However, I also read somewhere that too much cranberry juice can cause an increase in the amount of bacteria present in the bladder as the particular sugar in it creates a better environment for them to multiply. I'm not sure about this but I used to suffer with UTI's and i must admit that cranberry juice has really sorted out the problem for me.
Because it has a natural bacterial-fighting agent to it. A UTI is caused by E.coli infection in the urethra. The cranberry juice will stave off infection and help clean out your system. Also, to prevent UTI in the future, remember to wipe front to back, wash after sex, keep your partner's mouth clean before sex (especially if drinking beer, for obvious reasons),avoid imbibing too much yourself, avoid methamphetamines, avoid bubble baths, wash after swimming, take Azo Standard Cranberry tablets, and drink plenty of water every day.
Cranberry juice contains a natural sugar called "D-Mannose", which prevents the bacteria which cause the infection from adhering to the bladder walls, and to be flushed out in the urine. I have used cranberry juice several times when I feel a UTI coming on, and it works like a charm. Just make sure you buy pure, UNSWEETENED cranberry juice. If you use the sweetened kind it will not work as well at all.
It has lots of vitamin C and recent research suggests it contain an antibiotic effect which helps to fight infections.
Cranberry juice is NOT good for a UTI. In fact it can make it worse. Cranberry juice is though, oddly, good for the prevention of UTI's if you are prone to them.
Cranberry is good for making the urine more acid, but if it doesn't work for you (as it doesn't for me), try the herb Uva Ursi. This seem to work really well, because it makes the urine more alkaline. Too far in either direction kills bacteria, and my system seems to be more alkaline than acid. Haven't had a problem in the 3 years since my ob/gyn told me about this.
i want to resond to what blondiet's answer says because theres so much good info here alrady given except: e. coli isnt the only thing can cause uti's. there are lots of other culprits including staph bacteria that safely live on our skin every day. there are lots of obscure nasty things that can cause recurrent uti's and a good doctor should do a urine culture to find out which 1 or more bacteria are present, and match it with the correct antibiotic if needed. different antibiotics are better for certain bacteria. i too find cranburry juice helpful, and also i eat more yogurt, i dont know if the yogurt helps but i feel like ti puts back some of the good bacteria that antibiotics can kill.
because it neutralises the acid that causes that horrible burning pain when you pee - it soothes the whole urinary tract as a result and allows you to flush out the infection much less painfully and more quickly. i feel for ya chick! also take uva ursi - it is the best treatment i have ever taken for uti. you can get it as a tincture in most chemists and trust me it's fantastic!
if it hasn't shifted in 24/36 hours, go to the doc!

Why if someone fall from the sky to the sea die?

Answer:
when you hit water at that high of a speed it acts like concrete. Like a solid mass. So think of hitting a side walk falling from the sky...
Newton's Law.
How many miles per hour hitting water at that speed?? SPLAT!!what part of "belly flop" don't u understand??
lets put it this way.. a person falling from the sky is traveling about 180 miles per hour... the human body can withstand blunt force trauma from about 100 feet, if you land in the water feet first or if you are diving head first.. any higher than that something will get injured.. you can see that if you landed flat or in some other position than feet or head first then you could be seriously hurt or killed from a drop of just 15 to 20 feet.. water does not cushion the fall it blocks the fall..
Because hitting water at that velocity, like from falling out of a plane, is like hitting a block of concrete. Your bones break, your ribcage gets crushed, you go unconscious from impact or shock, and you sink.
I have seen the massive injuries from and deaths of people that have jumped off mid-span of the Tappan Zee bridge.
It's not a very high bridge, but it still causes a lot of damage when you hit the water.

Why I get headache when I am studying?

Answer:
Start taking the Homeopathic remedy NATRIUM MUR in 30 potency three times a day half an hour before meals to get permanent relief from your headaches while studying.Totally without any side effects or complications.Take Care and God Bless !
I started getting headaches when I studied when I needed reading glasses and didn't know it.
Now that I have glasses to read with, no headaches.
Maybe you need glasses.
you may need glasses/new glasses.. or a better light.. If you can read clearly without things looking fuzzy it is probably the lighting your using..
Have your eyes checked - -odds are you need reading glasses..but also ensure that the light levels you use are appropriate and that there aren't other distractions (e.g., loud music) that is distracting you from concentrating.
You are probably looking to hard and have problems with your eyes and might need glassed. I think it's time to go see an eye docter.
Maybe you need a better light or get your eyes checked.Eye strain can cause headaches and could damage your eyes.
1) You are depressed when you study, or
2) You don't enjoy studying, or
3) You need a pair of glasses (check your eyes), or
4) The environment you are studying in is not so suitable, i.e. lots of noise or too dark. All the best.
Maybe.you should get your eyes checked...sometimes..when we (people) have the slightest imperfection of the eye, it can cause enough stress on the eye. Some people have a terrible problem reading from their computer monitor. If you are able to make an appointment with an ophthalmologist, let him know that you seem to be getting headaches only when you are studying.
The only other thing that comes to mind, maybe, your feeling a little stressed about your work. Sometimes stress or disinterest can cause headaches. Make a little diary of your headaches, what you are doing (exactly) when you feel them coming on ...this may help you to figure out the cause a little sooner. Good Luck!!
The material is boring. Try studying outside
Some times I get a headache when I am reading for too many hours. You could take a break every hour or so, get up and walk around for a couple of minutes. Sometimes the size of the text is too small and that causes eyestrain, if your studying from the Internet you could change the size or font of the material. Usually I get headaches from having too much light in my work area. To study properly you need enough light to see your materials but not too much, change things around and see if the light needs to be adjusted. Some people like to work in silence with no disruptions, other people like to study with music or background noise. I like to listen to shows while I type, but I have to have a quiet space to read things. Also people get dehydration headaches from not drinking enough water. This is a deep headache in the back of the head where your neck meets your hairline. So be sure to drink a glass of water (8oz) every hour or two.I hope this helps you in figuring out whats wrong.

Why does smoking crack make people so skinny? do they not eat?

just always wondered
Answer:
Stimulants suppress appetite.. The only thing that will be desired is water
things usually do not taste, or taste horrible after doing it, for long periods of time
Crack decreases the appetite-it contains cocaine which is a stimulant... So when people are on it, they have no appetite...
they choose pleasure over food. =)
pretty much. most crackheads only care about when they get their next hit, not when they get their next meal.

Why does my inner ear twitch?

For the past two weeks I have experienced an annoying twitching sensation in my inner ear. It started with my right ear then my left and both. Does anyone know what this is and how it can be treated as well as what causes this twitching sensation?
Answer:
That little butterfly sensation in your ear that only lasts a second is probably a spasm in your tensor tempani muscle. Try cutting back on the caffeine, etc,

Why does cocaine make you not eat?

Like you still think about it, but when you go to eat you cant.
Answer:
it doesnt make you not eat its just that you choose not to because you are way too hyper and excited to. you get really jittery and you want to do more coke. you dont even worry abotu eating. thats also why most cokeheads are up for 4 days at a time. thats not uncommon either.
no time to eat gotta do more coke
becuase your too hyper
cocaine stimulates the adrenal system - adrenals control adrenaline, which increases your heart rate and because of the primitive response that incurs 'fight or flight' , blood is shunted from internal organs to supply the muscles, as the body thinks it may need to either fight off a predator, or flee from one. This is also why you can get a little paranoid or agitated...same deal.Oh...and when blood is shunted from the stomach, it tells the brain to shut off hunger because it can't digest food right now. It lacks blood supply which equals energy to do the work.
Don't ask this question if your going to do illegal drugs.
I don't know, but I wish someone would figure it out. All of us struggling to lose weight, who don't want to become coke addicts, would love to know what it is that causes the weight loss. Maybe some scientist somewhere will figure it out and bottle the stuff.
idk, but adderall does the same thing and it makes me wanna try real cocaine. =)

Why does anti-depressants make you gain weight?

Answer:
Not all people taking anti-depressants gain weight. For me, it was just the opposite. I completely lost my appetite after starting a regimen of Zoloft. That was 6 months ago, %26 I still haven't felt hungry since. Eating has become a chore for me; just like brushing my teeth %26 doing the laundry. Some people do gain weight, however. This is because anti-depressants (or SSRIs) affect your brain chemistry. The effects these have on people are unique to each patient.Hope this helped you out!
the drugs change your bio-chemistry.
the truth!! it relaxes you and makes u want to eat like zanax u are calm and loving and all u want to is eat so try to eat vegs nad fruits
I'm not quite sure, but if you are looking for one to help you LOSE weight, try Wellbutrin. I dropped down from 155 to 118 on that medication. I suddenly had more energy to get up and do things, and I think there is also something chemically that alters your appetite. My friend took it for awhile too and ended up at a size 0. But just for the record, I don't condone taking it purely for the purpose of weight loss.
it depends on the anti-depressants not all cause one to gain weight. St. Johns Wort is an anti-depressant herb.. it didn't cause me to gain weight! In fact I lost weight using it! Peanuts are an antidepressant and so is chocolate and same for Cinnamon! I sure like cinnamon on toast using brown sugar not white. White isn't good for you! When I'm really depressed I polish off a jar of Peanut butter! Sometimes add jam or brown sugar to the peanut butter.
Allapathy meds like Zoloft or prozac change the brain chemistry the body compensates and becomes fat!
it slows down your metabolism and stimulates your appetite.
look in to , st, johns warts an or SAM-e.it is better for you, natural
They don't make you gain weight. They can cause you to be a little hungrier now and then, but, you do not have to eat just because of that. They can cause you to relax and to not think about how you will gain weight if you EAT all you feel like eating. Still, antidepressants do not make you gain weight. You cause yourself to gain weight, if you do, while on them.

Why does alcohol feel cold when it touches the skin?

Answer:
Because you forgot to light it first. Seriously, when alcohol evaporates, it uses heat energy it gets from your skin. Heat energy travels from hot to cold, leaving a heat deficit (cold) on your skin.
It evaporates really fast which cools your skin momentarily...
The boiling point of alcohol (aka the temperature at which it evaporates) is much lower than water. So, if you get it on your skin, it will feel cold because it is evaporating very quickly.
Alcohol evaporates very quickly. Especially if the item it comes in contact with is warm or a little warmer than it is. The quick evaporation sucks the heat out of the surface of the item the alcohol has come in contact with. This results in the cold feeling when in reality it is not all that cold.
Because, it goes through your system.
Evaporation is a cooling process, Alcohol evaporates at a much cooler temp then water.

Why does the hair stand up on your arm when lightning is around?

dont say masturbate rocky, thats your answer to every life problem.
Answer:
The electricity in the air. Actually when that happens you really should move from where you are.
It is caused by the electricty that the lightening generates. If you hair is standing on end when it is lightening out sounds like you are standing to close to where it is striking.
Because there's electricity in the air, and it's causing static to raise the hair.
because of the free flowing electrons that the light emits
cause your a weasel.
Static electricity.Charged air particles

Why do you smoke Marijuana?

Answer:
relaxing! and fun without losing control.
i like the buzzzz, the taste and the smell...its alot safer than drinking...

Why do you answer questions that I didn't ask?

I asked a question, and several of you answered questions that I didn't ask. Why can't you try and answer the questions that I asked. If you don't know, don't answer. You assume I eat junk food. You assume I haven't been to a doctor. You ignore the question about symptoms. I guess you just don't know any answers so you just say whatever pops into your mind. It's not helping.
Answer:
Why don鈥檛 you tell me the symptoms you have and I will try and help you.
Stop asking questions then if you are not getting the answers you are looking for.
it might help if you asked a question that was clear and to the point. Mentioning things like what you have already done, is key to people understanding what you need. Getting answers that don't apply, is a result of questions not being clear enough.
If you have true concerns about your health, turning to a bunch of smart alec glory-hounds like the people on ByeDr.com is the wrong place to ask!
Ever heard the phrase "you get what you pay for"?Seems particularly applicable here.
The only thing I can assume from this question is that you are not being clear or specific enough to get the answers you are looking for!!
Most things in life are vague and open to interpretation.Even if you ask a question, someone may have input additional to what you're asking about that may help out even if you didn't originally ask about it. I think most people are trying to be helpful. If it's not appreciated, what's the harm in just being polite anyway?
What are your symptoms?

Why do we close our eyes when we kiss?

Answer:
It allows us to focus on the experience and not outside distractions.
It's a reflex to protect our eyes. You may notice if anything gets too close to them, they automatically close.
so we don't have to look at who we're kissing.
So we won't be crossed eye.
We want to feel it, deeply... Muach
b/c we're usually thinking of someone else. j/k. I think it's b/c it's weird when someone has their eyes open.
perhaps, it's because it's awkward to look at someone that close. besides, you can't really see someone when your that close to their face. another reason may be so you don't get your eye poked by their nose. LOL!
It makes kissing all that much better - something to do with cutting out the other senses to amplify one sensation. Also, it is very offputting if the person you are kissing has their eyes open.. it's like they're not paying full attention to you !
Because it is a little weird to look at someone from an inch away. Easier to focus on being excited and enjoying the moment when eyes are shut than everything out of focus. Might burst out laughing too often.
i think its b/c its so weird to have your eyes open when your kissing someone. like, i kissed this one guy and his eyes were open and it really freaked me out.
Because we want to enjoy the dreaminess of it all?
In post pre-historic days, cavemen would often bite a small chunk out of a mate's bottom lip to signify that woman belonged to them. The closing of the eyes is a subconscious reminder of our ancestor's pain.
I don't! I wanna see who I'm smooching on! My husband's really gorgeous so I look at him every chance I get! Up close, far away, old pictures, in person...you name it, he's just nice to look at!
It's just a reflex. Besides, trying kissing with your eyes open and get a feel for the awkwardness of it.

Why do people try drugs?

This is for me to know!
Answer:
CUZ THEIR STUPID AND HAVE NOTHING ELSE 2 DO
curiosity==peer pressure
so that they can "fit in", or be "noticed". or because they wanna see what the big hoot is on them. theyre usually just curious. or theyre trying to escaape reality to a point were being sober is hell.
because everyone else does which its totally stupid cause if everyone woulod just stop trying to please the other people, no one would do anything bad! DUH!
to escape
they don't "know how "
Out of sheer ignorance.even the mildest drugs, such as aspirin (as a gross example) can bring disastrous comsequences, if just taken "to see what happens"...The body is too complex and more complex that we would like to understand (different people, will respond in different ways to a drug, eben when properly prescribed)...there is always the risk of death enev wit one tablet or injection of anything (deaths have been reported with medicines that normally do not kill ( however penicillin is a good and well known example) however the list grows bigger and bigger...(because the sudden and unexpected acute very grave allergic reaction callled "anaphylactic shock) that no one can predict (with unconsciousnes, low blood presure, redness of the body, urticaria etc)
In short, taking pills to see what happen, most of the times, nothing will....however if it happens, ir can even mean death...Thats the plain and painful truth
curiosity. not stupidity, not hating life, not poor morals, not peer presure, not becaue drugs are evil, not because they're stupid. curiosity. period.
to escape from reality.
curiosity.
peer pressure.
and personal satisfaction.

Why do my shoulder muscles stiffen only at night?

it feels like they are sleep and im paralyzed, but only when i awaken.
Answer:
My first guess would be your pillow. You may not be getting the support you need at night and possibly your nerves %26 blood vessels that come from your neck area are being impenged. [a chiropractor may be able to recommend a good pillow, I've heard that down pillows help]My next guess would be arthritis in the lower cervical neck or upper thoracic spine. Arthritis is most noticeable in the morning then symptoms tend to subside as the day progresses. Finally, you may simply be stressed and your body is responding to it this way.
You could be pulling a muscle during the day from carrying a too big of purse or booksack. You could be laying too much on that side.
Too many push-ups before you fall asleep. :)
Most likely due to sleep position and/ what you are sleeping on pillow/matress/floor/ground etc.

Why do I have gas when I eat beans? I make them myself with beans from my organic love garden.?

I believe it is because I do not love the land enough.
Answer:
I believe its because you don't love your body enough. Your system can't digest beans well enough. usually the problem starts in the stomach and gets worse further on down the line. Think about taking natural digestive aids.
haha - its just what happens stinky! ;)
various foods cause such activity
beans actually contain sulfur. it's one of the reasons we have gas after eating them.If you take Beano, the enzymes in em help break down the beans so they do not end up giving you gas.
Beans,Beans the musical fruit,The more you eat, The more you toot ! The more you toot, The better you feel, Make sure to eat beans for every meal !
Everyone gets gas from eatting beans, that I know of, in fact, my husband refuses to eat anykind of beans because of it Go figure!
Foods high in starch cause flatulence.
This question was just on Ophra the other day when she had Dr. Oz on the show. He said that beans contain sugar and the enzymes in our digestive system love the sugar and gobble it up in turn producing gas. And you are right, the gas from beans is not smelly. It dosen't matter if your beans are organic or not, all beans will produce gas. Just let it out!Note from the answer above:
Beans do not contain sulphur. Cauliflower, eggs, ect. contain sulphur and will produce smelly gas in humans.

Why do i get REALLY tired after sex?

after sex i usually stay tired for at-least that whole day and now, more recently for a day and half. i feel like sleeping but when i try to sleep, i can't.
is there anything i can do maybe eat/drink something to get my energy back?
age 21.
Answer:
Please read this ...http://scienceline.org/2006/09/25/ask-we...
check with your nutrition store...maybe it's you're low on B vitamins.and eat some meat.you might also want to choose a multiple vitamin.and get to your doctor and have a blood test to see what exactly you are lacking.
Stress, drugs, underwieght, or a chemical deficiency. I would recomend a simple blood test to tell you what is lacking.
see a doctor
I get tired after sex too, but not for that long. You need to see a doctor.
what kind of sex you do ?
eat onion %26 meat %26 cofectionary
Well I would say coffee or something, or you know what about working out...get an energy drink to pump you up.
You feel so relaxed afterward that you feel as if you could sleep.
Try to do a small meditation before sex, and ask your body not to give up too much energy.
You could also ask the earth for the energy you need for the sex. For this you could sit with your back straight and put both hand with palms touching you body about 1 inch under your bellybutton. close you eyes and focus on your breathing for a while. Take long breaths, in a relaxing way, don't hyperventilate. then, try to imagine, as you inhale, that a flow of orange energy comes from the center of the earth towards the place where your hands are, where its been stored. As you exhale imagine that part of that energy expands within all of your body, revitalizing it. Do this for a while, asking the earth to give you as much energy as you are going to need. Before you are done, be sure to thank the earth for taking care of you. Also, you might try to check with your partner to see how he/she feels after sex. maybe he/she is taking some some energy out of you, without knowing it.Good luck, :)

Why do doctors put you on antidepressants when you have bad nerves?

Answer:
because some antidepressants have anti-anxiety effects too. try kava kava or gotu kola. two good herbs for treating anxiety
I would check into non drug therapies with a psychologist they seem to really help more in the long run. Good luck!
doctors put you on antidepressants when you are depressed. Usually 'nerves' are tagging along also. If your doctor has you on antidepression medicine and you are not depressed get another doctor, for sure. Best wishes.
so u can develope more symptoms and go back to him.
You do not have to take any thing you do not feel comfortable with just because your doctor said so. Medications can some times make your symptoms worst. Tell your doctor exactly what you need. If he does not listen find another doctor.
antidepressants is a mood altering drug which certain ones do calm bad nerves antidepressants do calm nerves down to help you relax
obviously you need to calm down and a glass of wine isn't getting it.Antidepressants also help with anxiety attacks.

Why do copper bracelets help with joint pain?

Answer:
Some copper is actually absorbed thru the skin by reacting with fatty acids in the skin. Some persons with arthritis are deficient in copper which is an important coenzyme for Superoxide dismutase (SOD). These people may notice some benefit attending the green wrist. Others won't see much benefit. If you don't note any change after a couple of months it probably isn't going to help. You might check out glucosamine sulfate or celadrin or MSM. Monavie juice also seems give some people relief. Good luck
It's the highly technical "placebo" process.
They don't, they only help your wrist turn green!
Do they? Are you sure? Absolutely no concrete evidence that they help.
They don't; they've tested it. If you feel an improvement, it's psychosomatic.
Copper bracelets for arthritis pain relief is an old folk remedy. It is believed that copper is absorbed by the skin to relieve joint pain. The concept of copper absorption is mostly anecdotal and remains controversial. Most choose and use copper jewelry for fashion not function
About as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
Not in the slightest, nor do magnets. It all dates back to the days of witchcraft! Sustained perhaps by the very high placebo affect which can occur when dealing with pain issues. In the few weeks I have been answering 'Health Answers' I have had my eyes really opened. I had no idea that such a high percentage of the population are so naive as to believe in the myths, potty patent medicines, illegal drugs, illegally purchased prescription only drugs, charlatans and just plain crooks, purporting or pretending that they can fix them.
i cane answer ur q , but i thing that dear dr.frank should do some research on research done on magnetic therapy before making such sweping statements .
well the theory is that the coppers magnetics feild helps correct the eaths magnetic fields im not gonna tell you its a load of bullshitbut i think it is :P
Hi Russell, copper bracelet acts as a cofactor, or partner, in many enzymes and processes, affecting a wide variety of bodily functions and systems.Copper works with Vitamin C in the production of collagen and elastin, which are connective tissues that, quite literally, hold the body together. In addition to this aspect of wound healing, copper also has a role in the first step to wound healing 鈥?blood clotting. It also partners with iron in the making of red blood cells, which serve the essential purpose of bringing oxygen throughout the body, as well as helps the body to absorb and use iron. It is helps to make bones, working with calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, Vitamin D and Vitamin C.Copper has a role in the nervous system, as well. It is necessary in the creation of the myelin sheath, which protects nerves and enhances their communication. The connective tissues and nerves in the brain require copper for both structure and function. Copper also serves as a cofactor in the production of the body鈥檚 important antioxidant enzymes, making a significant contribution to the control of damaging free radicals. As a trace element, the body requires just a tiny bit of copper daily. Adults should have just 1.5mg to 3mg per day. It is important to note that too much copper can be toxic to the body鈥檚 system. So daily a copper bracelet use is not recommended.

I have Fibromylagia and I even tried the QRay that they claim works. NOT!! I tried them wearing them longterm and even buying new ones each year. I did this for over 4 years and I swear it seemed more like the pain was getting worse. I didn't find them to help at all. What I found more useful is a healthy diet full of veggies and fruits, and well balanced meals cutting out all the excess sugar when possible, drinking lots of water, no soda (this actually robs your body of essential minerals and vitamins and can make pain levels worse, and walking and stretching. I dodn't understand why we are always looking for some miracle cure when it is right there in front of our face that if we eat right, get some exercise, drink water, and think positive it can be so helpful
Copper is essential for the formation of collagen, which makes up the connective tissue of the bone matrix. One of the early signs of copper deficiency is osteoporosis.(Prescription for Nutritional Healing, Balch %26 Balch, 1990) Copper deficiency is linked to certain types of arthritis pain. Theoretically, trace amounts of copper would be absorbed through the skin.
Thank you Dr. Frank...you echo my sentiments exactly. I initially thought that these "Health Answers" might be interesting or thought provoking; but it's actually scary to see how many desperate and ignorant people are out there who might actually follow the advice of some of these charlatans and their "junk science".
I think it is because it is believed that they change the electrolytes in the blood stream, thus curtailing the inflammation

Why do certain foods cause my butt to itch?

butt (rectal area)
Answer:
I don't know. Here is a link to that...
http://www.mothernature.com/library/book...
allergic?
You could have worms? I would check that out first.
its allergies babe most likely from food with preservative.
its might be eczema which is very treatable.
Maybe an allergic reaction?
Or, may be hemorrhoids. Not enough fiber.
waht type of foods?
Grains, carbs, and sweets ?
One possibiltiy:Pruritis Ani (itchy butt).
Can be caused by many things, including consumption of acidic foods, alcohol etc. Its to do with irritation of the sensitive rectal mucosa from certain chemicals in the faeces. It is a common condition and can be treated by regular washing of the rectum following defecation with warm water. Avoid soaps etc that can further irritate the mucosa, and potentially avoid foods that you know exacerbate the condition.RESIST the temptation to scratch...this only makes things worse. Try washing with warm water when itchy. This should help if this is your problem.

Why cobweb's white round house can cure skin cuts?

Answer:
I think what you are asking is whether or not applying spider web silk to a cut will help it~!? If so, the answer is yes, it has been shown to cause very immediate natural clotting and begins your body's natural healing process more quickly. It is most helpful if you happen to have a rather bad cut which persists in bleeding excessively. Question is, do you just happen to have cobwebs hanging around the house when you need them. :-)
What in the world is a "cobweb's round house"? Spikers don't live in a spider house. They live on a web of silk.

Why can't you drink well taking anti-depressants ?

Answer:
My goodness you've been given some silly answers. I was on anti depressants for ten years. Alcohol, as one of your more sensible respondents said, is a depressant and once the 'high' wears off after a few drinks, usually the feelings of depression are more acute and difficult to deal with.
Many people who take Zoloft, Prozac, and other depression-related medications drink light to moderate amounts of alcohol without serious side effects, or any effects at all. However, it's important to know what the possible interactions may be so that you can be on the lookout. When there is a noticeable reaction from mixing alcohol with anti-depressants, it's often an amplified response to the alcohol, i.e., one drink may end up feeling like two. If you usually feel tired, or even a bit depressed, after drinking, then you might feel even more so if you're on anti-depressants. They affect your brain's ability to absorb serotonin, which acts as a neurotransmitter, transmitting nerve impulses between nerve cells and affecting mood. Alcohol also affects serotonin levels in your brain by altering your brain's production of it. That's why using the two together could produce unexpected and unwanted emotions.
Similarly, the shaky motor skills and slower reaction time common for alcohol users may get even shakier when anti-depressants are present 鈥?these responses can occur suddenly and unexpectedly. Zoloft, and the other anti-depressants like it, can also produce sedative effects; since alcohol is a central nervous system depressant, lowered heart rate and blood pressure changes are possible.
Because then the medication won't work.
Because your tolerance to alcohol goes waaaay down, and a drink or two will get you really drunk, as well, alcohol is a depressant, and the slight "down" feeling you usually feel after a night of drinking will be amplified.
i don't know but i do. doesn't affect me at all.
increase heart rate.makes you restless ormake you more tired. high blood presure. the alcohol could revers the afect of the med. you are taking. and or kill you.
Because alcohol is a depressant and it would work against taking the anti-depressant. If you want to start feeling better take the time you are on this medication to get things done that you never find time to do. Clean out a closet, get a bag of clothes ready for Goodwill, help a neighbor, and when you get your mind off yourself..you will find that you ARE feeling better. Good luck.
The anti-depressants affect the respirtory system, and alcohol does too. Combining the two depressents together, can cause you to have shallow weak breathing.
Because if I'm right alcohol is a depressant besides that if you have stuff going on maybe alcohol is not the best for you...find other ways to get happy. Maybe its the mixture of chemicals too

Why are we now flocking to doctors for Preventative treatment when we as a consumer hold all the cards?

I am currently experienceing this. When do I cut these folks off %26 say enough is enough!!
Answer:
When you are sick and tired of being sick and tired.Or when you live long enough to discover that you are responsible for saving your own life.Or you were educated that there is no known medical cure for anything.Or when the student is ready the teacher will appear.http://www.glycostory.com/mannalive...
May be they follow the maxim - Prevention is better than cure.
I always ask myself is preventing with a coctail of untested trial medicatoions really preventive? While you are at the doctor educate him or her about your alternative treatment that you are very knowlegable about. Show them documentation. Doctors only know what they learn in school and I have found out that they are not extensively trained in pharmocology. And after school they know what the sales people tell them. So it is your job to educate your doctor. I have found though that there are doctors that will not hear of such non-sense. If this is the case, you should re-evualuate their judgement. If they are out for your best interest, then the least that they could do is check something out or listen to your testimony.
We've been conditioned to believe everything a doctor tells us. In the past, people used herbs and home remedies to successfully treat minor problems. We've gotten away from that now. In Europe doctors prescribe herbal remedies instead of drugs. And in many third world countries, herbs are still used as a matter of course. You go to the local healer instead of the doctor. It's a matter of educating yourself and taking responsibility for yourself. If you are experiencing a certain condition, research it online. There's a wealth of information out there! For example, I learned about using natural progesterone cream when I went through menopause. I bought it online, and used it for several years until the symptoms were gone. And I never went to a doctor about it.Medical practitioners in this country hate that kind of thing. They say we're self-diagnosing and self-treating ourselves. They think it's dangerous. I suppose it could be if you don't use common sense. I think some of the problem is that the drug companies give so many freebies to doctors if they prescribe the drugs these companies are selling. And doctors are taught in medical school to reach for a prescription pad before trying anything else.Don't get me wrong, I'm very glad to live in a time and place where modern medical treatments are available. But I feel that they are very overused. Many times your body will heal itself without antibiotics if you give it a chance.Darlenehttp://www.herbal-remedies-for-busy-moms...

Why are there so many supplement companies in Utah?

Answer:
Hi Mark, yes Utah is considered the central hub of the nation's nutritional products industry. With more than 70 companies providing many herbal products, including, vitamins, energy bars, diet aids, protein powders, and liquid supplements. These companies employ a number of multi-level sales representatives and more than 7,000 workers. Companies in Utah develop many of the major brands of supplements sold nationally. Some of these companies include, Weider Nutrition Inc., Deseret Laboratories Inc., Usana Inc., NuSkin Enterprises Inc., Twin Labs, Nutraceuticals International, Nature鈥檚 Way, and Nature鈥檚 Sunshine Products.Innovative individuals in Utah sought business opportunities in herbs and natural products and made it a part of Utah鈥檚 growing economy. Companies such as Nature's Way and Nature's Herbs grew from boutique operations into large, global enterprises. Eventually former employees of these firms left to start their own companies. In addition, other businesses were founded to supply materials and services to meet the demands of these larger companies. So many supplement companies in Utah.

Why am I tired and cranky all the time especially between meals, frequently hungry and shakey?

I have all the above symptoms plus i have a hard time completing sentences between meals,I feel sleepy after and inbetween eating, ive tried having a little protein with each meal but still my blood sugar keeps dropping and I keep peeing. WHAT CAN I DO FOR THIS?
Answer:
Sounds to me like low blood sugar. I'd recommend getting tested again.
you are obviously a hypoglycemic person with a rapid metabolism. This a potential precursor to diabetes, and if there is a family history of diabetes, you are a prime candidate for developing the disease over time. I urge you to see a Registered Dietician for the best and most accurate information to control your dietary issues.
I am another RN and I totally agree with the first RN. You need to see a doctor also.
you sound like you have the symptoms of low blood sugar. eat a small meal every 2 hours and see what happens. low blood sugar is the opposite of diabetes.
If you suspect that your symptoms described are caused by low blood sugar, it is well worth following the recommendations to see if you feel better. You can get a good indication of whether you could have an adverse reaction to sugar, if you suffer shortly after eating simple sugar or two to four hours after an all-carbohydrate meal. Recommendations -
Eliminate sugar from the diet. This also means no cakes, candies, cookies, ice cream, sweetened cereal, canned fruit, and frozen desserts. In addition, you must learn to read food labels to find hidden sources of sugar. Avoid simple carbohydrates and refined and processed foods such as instant rice and potatoes, white flour, soft drinks, and alcohol.

Eat a diet high in complex carbohydrates and fiber, both of which help to stabilize blood sugar. Try to stick to the most natural, unprocessed form of a food. Eat regular meals at regular times. Don't skip meals. Don't eat late meals. Have protein at both lunch and dinner. Eliminate alcohol and smoking. Limit your caffeine intake to one caffeinated beverage--coffee or tea --daily. Watch out for caffeinated soft drinks and over-the-counter drugs. Eliminate the use of artificial sweeteners. SUPPLEMENTS -
Chromium: the trivalent form in dosages of 100 mcg. 3/a day before meals.
are you getting enough fat in your diet? I used to eat very little fat and had some of the same issues. Shaky and cranky and trouble thinking all point to possible episodes of low blood sugar.
You might want to think about eating several small mini-meals a day or try eating a small whole food snack in between three larger meals to boost your blood sugar (fruit, some veggies, etc.) in between meals.Hope this helps and you feel better soon!
Do you eat/drink ANY DAIRY even SOY?ANY HORIZON PRODUCTS? The foods you are eating could also be contaminated with SYNTHETIC CHEMICALS! Believe it or not.If your taking any VITAMIN SUPPLEMENT many are made with SYNTHETIC VITAMINS! You could be experiencing a CHEMICAL OVERLOAD,it could even be in your water and some Aspartame is in cereals, juices etc, and you don't even know its there! Or the vary things you wash your body with and moisturize with let alone clean with! You could be allergic to Wheat/Grains. YOU NEED TO KNOW!

Yes it does sound like the symptoms of a hypoglycemic.
Have you ever been on steroids? I came off mine too fast and I had all the symptoms you're describing. I had hypo/hyper thyroid and adrenal shock. The regular doctors I went to said there was nothing wrong. I read and read and that's when I figured out what was wrong. I went to my GP, who is totally open to patients having knowledge... I asked that she do a test to check my amino acids. Not all doctors can run that test. Some doctors don't even know about it. Others get pissed that you have any knowledge. The one that I thought would be low, was WAY below normal, it's taurine. There were others that were low, but that one was vital for blood sugar regulation. I started taking supplements. Go to the health food store and they'll have a book with a whole section about amino acids. I started to get better and then I went to a doctor who practiced a technique that is not very well known and within a couple of months he had turned my life around. Check out this sight and you can find a doctor in your area. I didn't take any drugs, just some supplements. I also tested negative for diabetes. Good luck.
