Why do doctors put you on antidepressants when you have bad nerves?

Answer:
because some antidepressants have anti-anxiety effects too. try kava kava or gotu kola. two good herbs for treating anxiety
I would check into non drug therapies with a psychologist they seem to really help more in the long run. Good luck!
doctors put you on antidepressants when you are depressed. Usually 'nerves' are tagging along also. If your doctor has you on antidepression medicine and you are not depressed get another doctor, for sure. Best wishes.
so u can develope more symptoms and go back to him.
You do not have to take any thing you do not feel comfortable with just because your doctor said so. Medications can some times make your symptoms worst. Tell your doctor exactly what you need. If he does not listen find another doctor.
antidepressants is a mood altering drug which certain ones do calm bad nerves antidepressants do calm nerves down to help you relax
obviously you need to calm down and a glass of wine isn't getting it.Antidepressants also help with anxiety attacks.
