Why do we close our eyes when we kiss?

Answer:
It allows us to focus on the experience and not outside distractions.
It's a reflex to protect our eyes. You may notice if anything gets too close to them, they automatically close.
so we don't have to look at who we're kissing.
So we won't be crossed eye.
We want to feel it, deeply... Muach
b/c we're usually thinking of someone else. j/k. I think it's b/c it's weird when someone has their eyes open.
perhaps, it's because it's awkward to look at someone that close. besides, you can't really see someone when your that close to their face. another reason may be so you don't get your eye poked by their nose. LOL!
It makes kissing all that much better - something to do with cutting out the other senses to amplify one sensation. Also, it is very offputting if the person you are kissing has their eyes open.. it's like they're not paying full attention to you !
Because it is a little weird to look at someone from an inch away. Easier to focus on being excited and enjoying the moment when eyes are shut than everything out of focus. Might burst out laughing too often.
i think its b/c its so weird to have your eyes open when your kissing someone. like, i kissed this one guy and his eyes were open and it really freaked me out.
Because we want to enjoy the dreaminess of it all?
In post pre-historic days, cavemen would often bite a small chunk out of a mate's bottom lip to signify that woman belonged to them. The closing of the eyes is a subconscious reminder of our ancestor's pain.
I don't! I wanna see who I'm smooching on! My husband's really gorgeous so I look at him every chance I get! Up close, far away, old pictures, in person...you name it, he's just nice to look at!
It's just a reflex. Besides, trying kissing with your eyes open and get a feel for the awkwardness of it.
