If you say it's because a lot of kids abuse the drug, then why is any perscription drug legal? Lot's of kids abuse perscription drugs. And lot's of kids abuse illegal drugs... Why can't doctors perscribe it to people who could benefit from it's use during counseling sessions in a controlled environment?
Answer:
It already is... sort of. Prozac works in a similar way to MDMA and is chemically very similar.MDMA creates the production of serotonin in the brain. Prozac prevents the absorbtion of serotonin in the brain. Both drugs work on increasing serotonin levels in the brain. When the pharmaceutical companies came to test the drugs they chose to spend their millions on testing Prozac. They could have just as easily spent their millions testing MDMA and this would be the new prozac. All it takes is a couple of hundred million dollars for testing, and any drug can become "legal".Warm Regards,
David
It is not that simple...First, we SELECT the children that will benefit with the use of stimulants in proper dose and proper time.Second, If some children "abuse" those drugs, well, that depends what you consider abuse...and how vicious are the so called "children"...
Yes it is legal, because its written in the Law, and LEGALLY authorized persons, with legal responsibility, (accountable to federal authorities for misprescriptions and possible misuse, if results from medical negligence), do perscribe and follow up such prescription.
In your perception...tell me..What kind of people can possibly benefit from MDMA as adults?.which?.. with what diagnosis, and what vigilance?.do you know them? in which cases?.
Do you really know what counselling sessions mean?
Chap, I am afraid you have to get your high school diploma before getting into medical matters...
You dont have a serious idea of what you are asking or talking here I am sorry to say (seriously)
because the government said it was bad...and the government is always right.
I think MDMA it should be illegal but in the way pot is illegal in Canada.

Why is there such a strong correlation between Christianity and holistic / homeopathic / alternative medicine?
Answer:
Christians believe that God the creator created your body to heal itself. Think of it -when you cut or bruise your self you don't need anything for it to heal because its created to do that by the God who is often refered to as "The Great Physician".We are not born with a conjoined twin at our side who is a physician.
Before sin came into the world Adam %26 Eve lived in the Garden of Eden living on a plant based diet. So I think that may be where the herbalism component comes from. Also Jesus healed people with out the aid of doctors. Every once in while someone gets healed from something drastic with out the aid of a Dr.
The website below is an example of that. There are some spontaneous modern day miracles but they are not prevalent
in our "pharmacological based "medicine era. Our FDA is in bed with big Pharma so we cant trust them to be objective.
We were told for years HRT (hormone replacement therapy ) by pregnant mare urine (Premarin) was a panacea for the main diseases of women only to find out its caused estrogenic breast %26 uterine cancers and strokes. Cancer rates are no lower, neither are heart attacks deaths.
In fact Drs %26 hospital staff cause about some 400,000 deaths a year. And that's from self reporting by the Drs %26 institutions
themselves. You have to wonder if the actual numbers aren't higher. Its called iatrogenic death. Try search on it. Clinics %26 hospitals are run by bean counters (accountants)%26 not those who care to cure people. In fact they lose their cash cow (sick folk) if you DO get healed. Its really not in their interest to even find out what is causing your inital problem. In fact they don't do the work of knowing the cause -they're into treating the "symptoms" without ever knowing the genesis of the problem.Remember these are the folks who still think its OK put put mercury in your body long term in the form of tooth fillings. So I think Christians tend to trust God based or Creation based medicine. I think the final issue is one of trust.
We learned these things from the Buddhists, Hindus, and others (some denominations of Christianity) who do not use traditional doctors and medicines.
it doesn't matter what faith you have ,you are going to do it your way=that's why there is such a strong correlation
Is there? I didn't know that and I am an herbalist.
There is?If so, it's a rather new (and dare I say syncretist) connection.Christianity has traditionally had little to say on the subject of medical practices (and later, medical sciences). However, there are a number of factors that could explain a rise in the use of non-standard medical/health practices among Christians. The first is the general trend, in Western countries (especially North America), to explore non-Western or pre-Enlightenment practices in medicine and health care. Allopathic medicine (modern medical science) has on the one hand practically discredited itself by virtue of its own success and on the other hand reached the limit of problems it can solve easily and cheaply, so people are increasingly turning to homeopathic or other non-standard medicines either to complement or to replace their normal medical care. Christians, one supposes, are no exception to this trend. The second is the rise of Christian groups that are quite simply hostile to the modern sciences (which includes medicine in many respects), and so, in addition to their home-grown brand of "faith healing", their practitioners are quite at home with unconventional forms of health care and medical practice. The third is the decline of the old-school, mainstream Christian denominations. In the "lapsed Christian" or "post-Christian" pool of people who are no longer members of the older denominations and who are not about to convert to the new ones, there has been a flourishing of neo-pagan and/or syncretist beliefs, many of which incorporate homeopathic medical practices which are based on their eschatological and (pre-)theological constructions of the human body and human soul.It must be said that many people who are effectively "lapsed" or "post" Christians still identify, however weakly, with their childhood religious affiliations and may even regularly attend services at Christmas and Easter (the "C%26E crowd" as they are more or less affectionately called).Fourthly, allopathic medicine is an extremely recent development compared to the ancient status of homeopathic medicine. Until as late as four-five hundred years ago, everywhere in the world, for millennia, practiced some form of homeopathic medicine or another, including in Christian Europe (with the notions of the "humours" and the bodily fluids that were thought to carry them). So it should come as little surprise that anyone looking at the shortcomings (real or not) in allopathic medicine should turn to pre-existing alternative approaches. Those four reasons can probably be said to constitute a good answer for this question.
Although my base religion is Christian, I hadn't noticed the Christian influence toward Homeopathic at all. I chose that path for myself and my family because Western Medicine for treatments other than broken bones and major illness has been a total joke for us. Western Medicine promotes prescriptions for symptoms rather than attempting to get to the root of the illness. For my childrens sake, I don't want to have illness prolonged and I certainly don't want them to think popping a pill solves our health problems. Homeopathic/Herbs/Alternative therapies are an incredible way to cleanse our bodies and yes "prevent" future illnesses to some degree. Perhaps the Christians that you know connect the healing power of the plant medicines back to historic times of Jesus.
I find the opposite. My family are very 'religious' and they totally disapprove of my interest and qualifications in alternative and holistic medicines. They seem to associate it with being evil and Satanic and they prefer to use conventional medicines at all times rather than even consider the benefits of anything else.
My mother will use herbs in cooking but anything concerning health properties of the very same herbs and she immediately associates it with witchcraft!
Never noticed that. I'm a catholic, then maybe that's why.
if anything ive found the reverse to be trueyou cant make a general statemant on this topic
Let's presume you mean Conservative Christians. "Christianity" is a huge broad swath of humanity. In that view I have not seen this 'strong' correlation. There has, in fact, been much aversion by mainstreamers to our work. That being said, having a strong faith (ANY faith) will help you in your quest for healing, and the definition of healing more than none. If you do not mean CCs, then I have not witnessed that either. I do this sort of work, and many of my clients may well be Christian, but it's because of the demographic of where I live, and the preponderance of those religions in this area.
Why is there such a stigma towards Herbal Remedies and Natural Cures ?
Answer:
Because some people are ignorant %26 will slag off things they don't understand or have no knowledge of - in this respect, they follow what others say like sheep! They read the "research" which is usually funded by drug companies who of course want to disprove anything that might affect their income! This research isn't worth the paper it's written on. Maybe come %26 ask any of my patients - many who have turned to alternative therapies as a last resort - and they will tell you how wonderful they can be.
Thankfully, there are the enlightened ones who are willing to try things before slagging them off. Then they find that there is help without side effects available because it works for them - as they are individuals with an individual response to their ills - therefore needing an individual treatment. Anyone who had read my replies to similar questions will know that I'm passionate about homoeopathy. I see first hand, fantastic cures EVERY day in my work - often of people who have been left high %26 dry by the conventional lot as being incurable or only being offered treatments that make them worst. I have seen both sides of the fence having worked in the NHS for over 20 years but my work in alternative therapies over the last 15 years have been truely rewarding %26 inspirational. I'm not an unintelligent person - I hold 2 first class honours degrees, so I feel I have enough experience to make the comments I make.
I don't
Because the FDA has not approved it.
Because so many of them are abused by people, and that they don't tell their doctors they use them. Also because many claims are made about them that are simply not true and totally unproven.
Because so many outlandish claims have been made over the years. The FDA doesn't regulate this market like it does the drugs so they can pretty much say anything they want and get away with it.
too many ways to be scammed. like the door to door snake oil salesmen from the early days.. i agree there could be many better natural cures but not enough research and proof . and corruption of pharmaceutical companies
Everything needs the "almighty" FDA or AMA approval. Some natural remedies have been proven over time, I'm talking ancient times but when extracts of the natural remedy are put into pill form, that allows labs, doctors, and pharmacist to make some money. So there's no big hurry to tell the public about the benefits of a natural remedy to whatever ailment. IE. colon cleansing, gross I know but it applies here. In the early 1900's doctors did this often until someone came up with a pill to alleviate constipation. It's easy and it makes money for more companies so it sold. The bad is it doesn't do as thorough a job as the now infamous colon cleanse. Try goggling that and the history of it.
In America "alternative" treatments do not coincide with out cultural beliefs and practices in general. Western medicine is an evidence based practice, meaning we need facts and scientific studies, along with FDA approval to commonly accept something. Eastern medicine is more holistic in approach and encompasses the mind, body and spirit, and tends towards treating the cause of an illness or symtom instead of just the symtoms which is often done in Western culture.
Doctors up until the early 1800's used to use these types of remedies to cure diseases- famous historical writers used to claim that a physician's remedy was often worse than the disease, because the formulas were often foul tasting concoctions of myriad herbs and natural substances. Then we found science, which helped us to find the reasons for diseases and allowed us to target our therapies more accurately, and then we began to be able to prove the effectiveness of our treatments through the use of studies. People have returned to natural therapies, not because they work- we know that the majority of them don't- they have returned to them because it is part of human nature to believe in the wisdom of our ancestors, and mysticism.No-one realises that we have come a long way since then, and that we know A LOT MORE now than we used to. Natural remedies are ok, but they should not take the place of proven medicines, especially when they cost an arm and a leg, and are not regulated by any governement body, so you can never actually be sure of the ingredients!
Because these days it has gone beyond chinese and traditional therapies, it has become a sales scam and the potency of half of these remedies is negligible and pointless. I would be using alternative medicine if I lived back in the days where it was legitimate, however seeing the products aimed at draining your local consumer these days is appaling.
What else can you expect from FDA(Fools,Dolts and A**Holes). They don't make money on Herbs and natural remedies hence they do not approve anything which can actually cure you !Take Care and God Bless !
You would be foolish to omit all natural forms of healing. Here is an article that talks about alternative medicine in the modern world

Why is there more food allerigies than ever before?
my step mom was talking about how when she was younger no one had allergies too any type of food and now its like every one does. why is that?
Answer:
I believe it is because we don''t eat whole, natural food anymore. Even fruits and veggies are full of manmade chemicals (insecticides, fertiliers, etc) Food used to be jome grown with minimal chemical additives but now we are adding all kinds of things to our food. Just my opinion.
Here is my theory on this. We live in such a germaphobic society nowadays. We have antibacterial soaps everywhere and wash off the good bacteria with it. We don't allow our own bodies to develop our own antibodies to certain bacteria. When I was a kid, my brothers and I would play outside and dare each other to eat dirt. I know really gross. But we never got sick and don't have allergies. So many kids are allergic to peanuts today, because any allergen introduced to the body has a bad reaction to it. So let them eat dirt!
I don't think everyone has food allergies, I don't know any.
I think a lot of people are just paranoid about getting a rash, gas or something.
There are more additives in food and if people just ate wholesome food like they did years ago they would probably feel better.
When I was a kid there was no prepared microwave food, it was all made from scratch and even tasted a whole lot better than it does today.
There was not as much of a variety then, it was just meat, vegetables, fruit, the basic stuff usually grown in the backyard garden.
Back in the 50's there were kids who had allergies to chocolate milk, so they said, but I never saw any kind of reaction they had.
over processing of foods which deplete our store of digestive enzymes. over industrialisation and unsustainable farming techniques that deplete the soil of nutrients. More polutants in the environment causing people to become more sensitive. People not drinking enough water and favoring carbonated drinks and booze. All kinds of different things have changed since yesteryear.
THE REASON:I learned this in my health class...Food allergies are more prominent today, because of a few different reasons. One of which is that new mothers aren't properly introducing new foods to the babies. When beginning to feed kids solid food, you are supposed to feed them one food at a time for about a week. You also aren't supposed to give them certain foods at a young age, that I see mothers giving their babies. Such early factors on the mother's part are relevant in developing food allergies. The next reason is that people today aren't getting balanced nutrition. For example, kids are replacing milk with soda. If your body isn't used to metabolizing a certain food that the majority of people eat, then your body will react negatively, hence, food allergies, such as being lactose intolerant. If you've never drank milk, and then one day decided to, you would find yourself, lactose intolerant. Your body has to become used to braking foods like that down.

Why is the FDA infringing on our rights to use herbal remedies?
And did they think we wouldn't find out?

Answer:
My response to the FDA researcher; Then how come I'm so much healthier, lost so much weight, cured my depression, cured my dysmenorrhea and kept myself from becoming a full blown diabetic by changing my diet to organic foods, exercising, and using both acupuncture and chinese herbs? How come my mother lived 18 months with stage 4 pancreatic cancer using injectable mistletoe extract? How come my grandmother was spared the worst side effects of radiation therapy for breast cancer by taking vitamins and herbal supplements? How come most everyone in my family has seen a drastic decrease of health problems just by switching to organic products and taking their vitamins?Placebo effect? Hypochondriacs?
Absolutely not. Alternative medicine WORKS.Your cronies in the biomed and pharmaceutical industry just see it as a threat to their profit margin because people are starting to wake up and realize the answer doesn't always come from a test tube. The whole Vioxx and Celebrex scandal was all it took to make me lose confidence in yet another government agency whose OK is given to the highest bidder.
What a crock. This is what I do--investigate and research what's going on at the FDA. (No, I don NOT work for them). Let me tell you why this is happening. Because 99% of all manufacturers of these herbs, vitamins, supplements, juices, etc. claim that they will treat and cure all kinds of diseases. From cancer, diabetes, impotence, pain, weight loss, cholesterol, and on and on. And that makes them a DRUG. And they are all LIES. So, to protect consumers, they will now have to do clinical trials on these products and present the information to the FDA before they can be approved for sale. That way, they cannot sell products and say they the treat or cure anything that is not in their clinical paperwork. It's about time. People have been able to sell this stuff without FDA approval. Anyone could just mix up a vitamin or two, a little juice, another herb--anyone of these unapproved products and sell it. So many people have been injured and died because of this.
When these products are approved, you will still be able to buy them off the shelf--just like now. So don't get all excited and think that the FDA is scamming you. That guy's blog is ridiculous.
Not everything is black and white. Newstarget tends to sensationalize the issues they're passionate about. I suggest you read the FDA guidelines yourself, otherwise you're just listening to someone else's spin.
This is a good thing. Some people think because it's all natural it's OK but plenty of natural things have irritants or even poision.
Simple. Natural products don't work the same with everybody, some people might get better while others may remain the same. That is not the case with drugs, even if it harms something else like it always happens with the side effects, yet it will work with everybody the same. To say that a natural product will cure you is wrong because even though it could, is not 100% sure. So, it would be sad to give hope to a person of something that is not truth. Just look at vitamin C, is not approved by the FDA, and it will never be, yet is recommended as a good source to help you with your immune system. Look at transfer factor testimony, is the third biggest discovery in the last decades and because is natural it will never be approved by the FDA. Anyway, with a better health people will get sick less and that is not good for the trillion dollar industry of the pharmacy who search for the treatment of the symptom rather than the cure itself. I used to get sick all the time and since I am using Transfer Factor Plus, in a year I got sick only twice, so I will be more concern in drinking those drugs which do more bad than good. The only reason the FDA is doing that is because of $$$$. Read The New Wellness Revolution by Paul Zane Pilzer and you will be shocked. I read it and I am taking advantage of it. I want part of that trillion, and my company is climbing to the top, and than let me know if you want to be part of the #9 fastest private growing company in only 9 years. 4lifesuccess@gmail.com
There is no money in it for the government, a lot of it you can grow, and if you are cured, the pharmaceutical companies can't keep you coming back with your money for a temporary fix, time after time.
And yes they knew we would find out, that's why they say it must be regulated by them.
Oh Heck -because instead of doing their real job-they have to stick their noses in something else------how many times have drugs been recalled after people have died been paralyzed -etc etc =AFTER they had approved other drugs-it-if they paid attention more to their real job maybe this would happen less
The FDA is being pressured by the pharmaceutical companies and also funded by them. There's a lot of money to be made and the drug companies are trying to corner the market. Money talks.
$.
You hit the nail on the head. Trace the source of the money for you answer. Who is most opposed to natural healing?
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$...
This is why. People can almost grow their remedies in their backyards but the FDA won't be able to control that or be funded by that! It's like smoking. I'm a non smoker but have you noticed how many drugs they sell to "help" people quit, and they ban you from doing it in all sorts of places but they still sell them! Isn't taking them off the shelf the best way to help everyone be healthier? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$... again!

Why is organic honey white? Is it more nutritious than pure raw honey?
Answer:
There's no such thing as "organic honey"--all honey is essentially organic. Unless you're getting "honey sauce" or "honey spread" like they give at KFC. Likewise, there's no such thing as raw honey. All honey is raw. I bet the honey is white either from the bees or the pollen collected.
some honey is oxidized which gives it a cloudy look(which explains the white appearence as it had thousands of tiny air bubbles in it), but if it isnt it will be more syrup like.
Honey takes on its coloring from the types of flowers the bees have access to. Not all organix honey is white, but it is usually very pale. Organic honey is often derived from one flower only, the bees access to flowers being carefully controlled. Hawaiian white organic honey comes from the flower of the Kiawe tree. The nutritional value is the same as from regular honey, but adherants often claim it is better tasting.
the only time i have seen "white honey", it was honey in which the sugars had crystallized. there is no greater "benefit" from that honey than regular honey. i've never heard of "white" honey unless it was honey that had crystallized... is it white or is it clear?keep this in mind when considering products that are labeled "organic". the department of agriculture only requires inspection for compliance to Organic guidelines if a seller has more than $5000 (gross) a year in sales. I could produce 2000 jars of honey right next door to a chemically treated orchard, sell them for $2 each, label it organic and nobody would ever know the difference.grow your own
It doesn't haveto be organic to be white. Just raw honey can be white and It's very thick, is alot sweeter IMO and melts like butter. I think it's because of ground up compounds in it like Honey comb wax and what type of pollen is in it. "beeswax" is white
Raw honey(white in color) 鈥?which has not been pasteurized or filtered, and ideally taken directly from the hive 鈥?is a treasure chest of nutritional value and medicinal remedies. It contains an abundance of vitamins and minerals and is a natural and powerful medicine, both internally and externally. It provides an array of vitamins and minerals; and supplies instant energy without the insulin surge caused by white sugar.Raw honey is exceptionally effective internally against bacteria and parasites. Plus, raw honey contains natural antibiotics, which help kill microbes directly. Raw honey, when applied topically, speeds the healing of tissues damaged by infection and/or trauma. It contains vitamins, minerals and enzymes, as well as sugars, all of which aid in the healing of wounds.Raw Honey is also exceptionally effective for respiratory ailments. One Bulgarian study of almost 18,000 patients found that it improved chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis, chronic and allergic rhinitis and sinusitis. It's an effective treatment for colds, flu, respiratory infections and a generally depressed immune system. Whereas sugar shuts down the immune system, a good quality honey will stimulate it into action. As you can see raw honey has many purposes, people that answer these questions really need to get their facts straight. As far as organic standards are concerned I can name 3 honey producing companies that make $5000 (gross) yearly FROM 1 STORE. As with anything, some companies you cannot trust to follow the standards. That's why research must be done before making retail decisions.
there is no such thing as "organic honey" because all honey come from bees and I have not known any type of bee that uses anything but natural methods and ingredients;pure honey is raw, otherwise it would not be pure;
honey not only gets its color from the flowers the bees gather the nectar from but the nutritional content varies; some may even cause allergic reactions but this is rare;how do you know your honey is genuine and pure? ants stay clear of pure honey because they associate bees with honey and they do not like bees; they will think that a bee hive is nearby; but, if honey becomes contaminated, ants will swarm all over it because it would mean that the honey has been taken from the hive by something (like bears, raccoons, %26 us);also, pure honey will keep indefinitely (even without refrigeration); the anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties prevent the honey from becoming bad; but again, once it becomes contaminated, it will spoil (the speed of spoilage will depend on the contaminant, the degree of contamination, the humidity and temperature of the environment, and other factors);finally, I have never seen nor heard of white honey; I will have to update my stock knowledge on this;
Real honey should be dark and thick. The flowers that the bees gather from will determine the color and taste of the honey. If honey is thin and colorless it's been diluted and will lack taste. Most commercial honey is filtered, heated and diluted. Just because it says organic doesn't mean it is organic.

Why is hair relaxers not good to use?
Answer:
Hi hyl Kristen, all of hair relaxers treatments involve altering naturally kinky, curly or wavy hair into straight strands through the use of specific chemicals designed to effectively break the chemical bonds of the hair, destroying the traditional curl or wave patterns. As you can imagine, any time you apply a chemical strong enough to completely break your genetic hair pattern, it can have other unexpected side effects. Side effects of a bad chemical hair straightening treatment can include total or spot hair loss, hair breakage where hair breaks at the scalp line, bald spots scalp rashes, irritation and potential scarring of the scalp. In rare cases, if burns occur on the skin, these can leave scars as well. Also, hair may stop growing temporarily or permanently as a result of the chemical treatments. The FDA acknowledges that many of the complaints that are received about hair straighteners or relaxers are due to the incorrect use of the product by the consumer or a stylist rather than a problem with the actual product used. Before beginning any hair treatment, especially one that introduces chemicals to your hair, you owe it to yourself to be well informed. Armed with a better understanding of this process, you will be able to make good decisions with regard to hair and scalp care.

According to Cornell University, here's why: Hair relaxers use a base (the opposite of an acid) such as lye to make curly hair straight. A good example of this method can be seen in the movie “Malcolm X” with Denzel Washington: Denzel nearly burned his hair off trying to straighten it. Unfortunately, this chemical can burn your skin and damage your hair. But some are better than others. “Imina P%26G No Lye Conditioning Crème Relaxer Base-Relaxer Kit” by Procter %26 Gamble, is smore mild than “MPDiol Glycol Alkaline Hair Relaxer” by Lyondell, .These chemicals, damage your hair, until eventually your hair starts to thin and break, so too much styling can be bad for your hair's health. .
